Holland won the soccer match last night. As a result the folks in the campground restaurant and all around us were cheering, car horns were honking and fireworks went off. This all happened just as we had settled into our beds and were trying to go to sleep.

Needless to say it wasn't a great night's sleep.

We got a later start in the morning than we had planned, leaving the campsite around 10 am. We spent quite a bit of time trying to get out of the city and over to the coast at Zandvoort, where we picked up the Eurovelo 12 route to go all the way down the coast. We stopped in a couple of towns to take in the views of the ocean. Most of the route was among the sand dunes and it was very windy again today. Our legs got a good workout for the first day on the route.

We arrived at our campsite just north of The Hague, called Camping Duinhorst, about 4 pm. A beautiful campground with large shady trees and nice camping pitches.

The rain was off and on again all evening but we took cover in their terrace so we were able to stay dry.
