We took some time in the morning to dry out our tent, our tent fly and ground sheet. So, we didn't get started on the bikes until about 10 am. We rode into The Hague to check out the International Court of Justice which is a nice old building. Unfortunately, the entry was still closed so we couldn't go in to take a tour. We headed out of town towards Delft. Nice countryside. We arrived in Delft, a canal ringed city, about 2 pm. We sat in the Delft main square, had a coffee and checked out the famous Royal Delft blue pottery, the beautiful restored 17th century town hall and the Nieuwe Church, built in 1393 to 1655.
Then, we headed towards Gouda. Unfortunately, the path was blocked off so we had to take a detour around and find a new route to continue towards Gouda. This happened twice which added another 10 km to the ride. We finally made it to Gouda around 5 pm. We decided to stay in town for the night. We checked our booking app and found that there was only 2 Bed and Breakfast spots listed, neither of which was available. We booked into a hotel in the centre of town which turned out to be very nice and comfortable. We had a nice dinner in the town square.
