We left camp early as we planned to visit Deutches Eck in Koblenz, the point at which the Moselle river meets the Rhine river. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as we had planned because they were setting up for a concert and we couldn't get near the point. We continued on our route and stopped to take pictures of the point from the other side. We continued on our way until we arrived at a bakery that was recommended to us. We had coffee and pastries which were, indeed, excellent.

As we continued along the route and we ran into some rain clouds near Anderach. With rain jackets on, we continued until Bad Bresig where we stopped for coffee and the rain stopped. We arrived at camping Gold Miele about 3pm, set up camp and walked to the sight of the former Ludendorff bridge. This was the only Rhine bridge captured intact by advancing Allied forces in March 1945. We toured the interesting museum at the remaining bridge tower.

Our day ended with a delicious supper cooked by none other than chef John!
