We all loved the little town of Bacarach but it was time to leave. We got an early start today. Beautiful sunny skies riding along the Rhine with nice temperature to start. We stopped several times to take pictures of the spectacular scenery as we continued along the Rhine Gorge between the Hunsruck and Taunus mountain ranges. We passed a series of pretty riverside towns. The gorge sides are covered by vineyards and forests with numerous castles on the steep slopes. The route was in good quality cycle tracks along the riverside.

We stopped at a riverside restaurant for coffee in Boppard and lunch a few kilometers before Koblenz. The temperature seemed to soar after lunch so at about 3pm we were glad to reach our campsite which we had booked last night. The campsite was about 5 km from Koblenz because we couldn't get into the Koblenz campsite. It turned out to be quite a nice campsite.

Happy hour and a lovely dinner at the campsite restaurant completed our day.
