We got on the bikes only at 1130 this morning.

We are now following the Eurovelo 12 route so the different signage along the route took some getting used to. We travelled on various types of surfaces today including boardwalks, dirt paths and paved roads, passing by canals, beaches, farmland, cities, and small towns. The headwinds were strong at times but it remained overcast for most of the day and not too hot.

Our route took us on a 8 km detour which delayed us by about 45 min.

We arrived at our campsite, just south of Calais, around 5:45 pm and got pizza at a nearby restaurant.
