The light show on the cathedral last evening was excellent.

This morning we packed up and left our little studio apartment in Amiens. About 4 trips down the elevator got everything down!!

As we departed from Amiens, we rejoined the Somme River to take us on another quiet and peaceful morning ride. We followed the river along the French route 30 right to Corbie where we stopped for coffee and pastries at a local bakery. We then followed the French route 32 up to Albert. This part of the route was through farmland and small villages. We no longer had shade like on the river route and was in full sun up to Albert. This was definitely the hottest day so far with temperatures about 34 C, sun and very little wind.

We found our little campground just north of Albert and was greeted by a lovely lady who explained everything about the campground and told us to pick a site anywhere on the grounds. We picked a spot under a shady tree and set up for the night. The campground has a fridge for campers to use so we went out to buy a few provisions to eat and some breakfast items which we could leave in the fridge for the night. At the grocery store we met up with a couple of Canadians, history teachers, who were on a bike tour of the local historic sites.

Back to camp for supper and bed.
