The nights are still quite cool, down to 13-14 C, which we did not expect for this time of the year. We will wait and see how this may change as we move inland but we may have to buy some extra layering for the nights.

Many of the stores are either closed on Sundays or open only until noon, so we packed up and left early in order to buy some food in Amiens.

We stopped at a bakery in Pont Remy, only a few kilometers away, to have some nourishment (the best croissant so far!!). Pont Remy is situated on the Somme River, so from that point on, we followed the bike path along the Somme. A quiet and sunny morning gave us a very peaceful ride along the banks of the river. We only saw a few fishermen and a few bikers on the path.

We arrived in Amiens about 1230pm. We had booked a studio suite for 2 nights in the downtown part of Amiens but we couldn't enter until 4 pm. We found an open express store where we bought some lunch and sat in a nearby park. Once we realized there was a McDonald's only a couple of blocks away, we got some coffee and used their bathroom.

Once we arrived at our accommodation for the night, we settled in and managed to do 5 loads of laundry, a much needed task!! Also, I managed to find a grocery store which was open until 7 pm and only a 15 min walk. All was good!!

We walked into town for a drink in the historic Saint Leu district and went to the light show on the cathedral.
