We had a nice leisurely breakfast. We left our cozy cottage about 9:30 am. The morning was overcast and a nice cool temperature for biking. We rode along open country bike paths and through some cute small towns.

Our coffee break was in Gennep, a small village along the Meuse River.

We arrived at the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery to visit John's second cousin's gravesite. John's middle name, Walter, is after this young man's name, who died at 21 years old in March 1945, fighting in WWII. The cemetery is very well kept and is a very peaceful place.

We rode on to Nijmegen, stopped for lunch in a shady park and then carried on to our host, Jane's place, near the small town of Elst. We arrived about 3:30 and set up our camp in her spacious garden. We got groceries, had supper and called it a night.
