We had a bit of a lazy morning, trying to decide on what we wanted to do with our last few days before we join our friends from Montreal for a bike tour of the lower Puglia area. We checked into nearby campgounds but it appears that they are closed for the season. So we decided to book a place in Lecce and do some day tips out from there.

We were still having issues with Judy's inner tube going soft (John patched the very small hole once he found it). So we left out apartment by bike to go to a store with the right tubes in stock so that we would have a couple of spare ones. It was about 8 km round trip. Once back at the apartment we headed out on foot to Brindisi city center, about 3 km away. (If you are looking at the map, the record of the walk shows that we went to the airport....but we didn't. We are not sure why it did this). We had to be very cautious as we walked, since the sidewalks are not in the best shape.

Once in the old town, we found the tourist information office, got a map and set out to see the main sights including the Palace, the Cathedral, the Roman columns, the waterfront and the harbour.

We walked back to our apartment for dinner and called it a night.
