Well we made it to the Danube. But between the jigs and the reels it ended up being a 54 km ride.

The day started off overcast and cool, great for riding. However, about15 kms in the sky became much darker and not long after the skies opened. It rained off and on for the rest of the day. It was a slow grind all day. A steady 2- 6% grade most of the day with a few pitches of greater than 15%.

The lower slopes of the ride up put us in the Black Forest which was a great quiet ride through forested areas. As we rose up we were in more open county, lots of farms. It was too bad it was a rainy day as the views were great. We decended into town again through the forest, nice ride down.

We decided to stay in a hotel as there is no campsite in town. Will try to get dried out tonight. On the way in we met a man who was only too eager to give recommendations on hotel, sites and restaurants. We hit the restaurant; he was right, great food.

We did crack a couple of jars.
