It stormed most of the night with thunder, lightening and lots of rain.

We took advantage of the buffet breakfast at the campsite and headed on the train for Konstanz (Contance in English). We were told that Konstanz was saved from the bombing in WWII because of it's proximity to the Swiss border. As a result, much of the old city is preserved. Lots to see and examples of artifacts dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries. The main cathedral is fascinating. Unfortunately it rained and we did not bring our rain coats. It slowed us down a little but we managed to see most of the old city.

There are alot of cycling routes around this area. Maybe we will do another trip sometime when we can spend more time in this area.

Tomorrow we leave the watershed of the Rhine and move over to the Danube. This will be the third and final major river we will follow on this trip. We meet the Danube at the town of Tuttlingen. It will be a fairly short riding day of about 42kms. The upside of this is more or less the first 37kms, while the downside will be the last 5kms.

Tuttlingen is a fairly small city that apparently has a very good craft brewery industry. I suspect that if all goes well tomorrow we may crack a jar or 2 or...

See you on the Danube.
