Our first stop today was the little city of Enns, one of Austria's oldest cities. The main square is lovely and colourful with a city tower in the middle built in the 16th century. We walked around, visited a pastry shop and headed on down the road. We, inadvertently, ended up on the highway but the views of the valleys below were spectacular. We read about the local cider region and so, we headed back onto the secondary roads in search of cider. A small liitle place but the cider is good!!

Then, it was on to Melk. We followed the road running beside the Danube right into Melk. The river here flows fast and the slopes on both sides rise sharply....very scenic. As we entered the city, the Melk Abbey certainly catches the eye!

Our campsite is very close to the Abbey, which will be the first visit on the agenda for us tomorrow.
