We had a nice easy ride day. We stopped to visit the Canadian memorial in Passendale, a lovely and peaceful site overlooking the valley, lined with maple trees and red hedges surrounding the site.

We stopped for lunch in Roselaire and then, arrived at our Welcome to my Garden hosts, Wim and his daughter Tina. Their place was really out in the country, a few kms from Tielt. Wim was very accommodating, letting us sleep in his large workshop shed so that we would not get wet during the night (forecast was for rain again!!). He made a nice fire in the stove for us to keep us warm. We met his family (wife and 3 teenagers) who were all so pleasant. We had a beer together and had a great chat.

We had a good sleep!
