We are very comfortable in our 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of downtown Ghent. Our second day in Ghent was spent touring the city in the sunshine.
This morning, we walked a short distance passing some lovely old buildings and canals on our way to the meeting point for a guided walking tour. We had a very good guide who informed us and entertained us for 2 hours. This is a lovely old city.
Once the tour was over, we took a public bus to a Decathlon store to pick up some camp gas and more waterproofing spray for our tent fly.
Back to the old downtown area, we refreshed ourselves with a snack and some Belgian beer. Then, we walked around some more, visiting some of the sites that our tour guide had mentioned like the old Cathedral and graffiti ally.
Mary and Judy tried a traditional dish called Julientje, like poutine, which was delicious.
We rested at our apartment and got a bite to eat.
