The Monastery had a nice continental breakfast for us. It was a rainy morning but we were well equipped with our ponchos to keep us dry. We met our friends at the Vatican City ticket office where we picked up our pre-booked tickets to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.

The Vatican Museums are so large with so much to see.  With the map in hand we walked through the many rooms and corridors filled with ancient treasures, artifacts and paintings.  We spend a few hours there and only saw a fraction of the historic collections. The Sistine Chapel is amazing!

Once out of the building, the skies had cleared up and it turned into another sunny day.  We stopped to take photos at Saint Peter's Square and Basilica.  We thought about going into the Basilica but the line up was so long and we were tired and hungry.

We had lunch at a small restaurant in the old city. Then, we continued our walk to Piazza Navona where we saw a couple of lovely fountains occupying the square - Fountain of the Four Rivers and Fountain of Neptune. Then, we continued to the Pantheon, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Colosseum on our way back to our accommodations.

We met up with our friends again later and had another nice dinner.
