We got up early today and hit the road around 8 am. In the beginning of our ride, we followed the bike path along the beach for a long way, almost to Ancona. It was a really nice ride with few pedestrians, the rising sun and the turquoise water. Ancona and its suburbs are perched on a hill. Once we entered Ancona, we started climbing to get around the other side of the hill. We pushed up our bikes in a few spots. It was hard but the views were worth it once again. We made it to a campground in Sirolo about 3:30 and settled in. Sirolo is a very pretty little town and is situated near Monte Conero . In medieval times it was a castle which belonged to the Conti Cortesi family. The town centre has been restored and it has amazing vistas of the sea.
