We started the day going down the long hill that we climbed yesterday!! From the beautiful town of Sirolo we rode down to the sea level town of Numana.  Numana was very busy with lots of people, motorbikes, cars and bicycles. Being the last weekend of the Italian vacation time, we think it is probably one last beach weekend for many Italians.

We worked our way out of town very slowly and carefully. As we rode down the seaside, we were on a mix of designated bike lanes, city streets and secondary highways. There was quite a bit more countryside and open space today.it was also quite flat which was welcomed after yesterday's steep climbing. We stopped at a lovely pine forest called a "pineta" to take a break and have some food. We arrived at our campsite for the night about 3 pm. It was a very hot day so we basically set up camp, cleaned up, had some supper and relaxed at our campsite.

We had our first little bit of rain this afternoon but it did not really accumulate to much. John rigged up a little shelter, made out of our ponchos, just in case it really started to rain hard. It worked well but, in the end, we really didn't need it.

Bike path along the beach.
