We had a lovely campground last night. The view was incredible. The campground restaurant served authentic Apulia food which was fun to try. The Manager of the campground was quite impressed that we were from Canada on bicycles. As we arrived he announced to the fellow campers that we were Canadians which turned a few heads and we got a few thumbs up. He was very kind to bring us some fresh plums off his tree.

We got started a little later than usual the morning as we only planned to bike about 40 km to Bari. The route was mostly along the coastline passing through small old towns with beautiful waterfronts and harbours. As it was quite windy today, the sea waves were crashing against the shore more than usual.

We arrived in Bari about 3 pm. We had originally planned to stay at a campground in Bari but the reviews are so bad that we decided to find alternative accommodation. From the tourist information office, we picked up some maps and set our plan to stay for 2 nights. We found a place to stay in the old town. It was quite a maze to find our "apartment". The streets are about 12 feet wide on old uneven cobblestone. The apartment is 3 stories high and the floor space is about 12 x 15 ft with very steep stairs to each level. Needless to say we needed to plan carefully what we need upstairs.

We will venture out tonight and find some traditional Apulia food. Tomorrow, we plan to take a walking tour of the city.
