Alot of rolling hills today so it was more challenging to ride. We biked in and out of Germany and Switzerland all day. There is a customs but there are no guards and no check in points, only a sign that says customs and a little hut or guard house.

Unlike in France, the distances between towns is quite short, 4-5 kms apart. The paths are a mix of pavement and stone, leading us through treed area, open farmland and many little towns.

At one point we happened to see alot of people around and wondered what was going on. We were at Rhinefall, where one of the largest waterfalls in Europe was an obviously great attraction

From that point for quite a few kms, there were people everywhere along the Rhine. It felt like a resort area, with sunbathers and boaters of all sorts. Very busy.

We arrived at Stein am Rhein and once again lots of people. Seems like a real tourist town. Alot of the old town buildings had unique paintings/frescoes on them. We made it to the campsite not long after. Once there, we went to the office but no one was there. So we decided to check out the tent area and go back later to pay. We talked with another camper who said to pitch our tent anywhere, in the big open field. Turns out that half the campsite is in Germany and half in Switzerland!! It had a nice pool and lots of hot water for showers.

In the morning we went back to the office so we did pay and paid in Swiss Francs!
