Another early morning to avoid the heat. Rode along the highway again to avoid some unnecessary trips to the country side. Very little traffic again. We passed more fishermen than cars passed us. Joined the bike path about halfway to the campsite and again rode along the canal. Arrived at campsite around 12:30. We are at the southern most area of the Bourgogne wine country. A much different landscape than the Loire. Very steep slopes for the vineyards as opposed to the plateau like hills of the Loire.

The last three days have been difficult. The heat had taken its toll on us. Most of the cyclists in the campgrounds have been like us. Up at 5 - 5:30 am to get away by around 7ish. It has changed our perspective a bit for the trip. We have a desire to vsit and enjoy the landscapes but at the same time we do have to put in some kms every day, need to make some progress. As you can tell by the lack of pictures and short posts the heat has got to us and we have chosen to put in the miles. Stopping to take pictures of the lovely landscape or of the amazing 7 lift locks along the canel means 10 more minutes in the heat. Cooler temps are forecasted as well as a bit of rain, hopefully we can get back to a bit more sightseeing.
