Another sunny day!!
We took the bus into Bruge in the morning and arrived in the town square about 1030. We looked around and admired the old buildings until we met our tour guide for a food tour of Bruge. We learned about the food culture and the history of fries (not French fries!), waffles, chocolate and beer and we tasted each of them. All excellent!! Our tour guide was very good.
Then, we did a historic walking tour with a different tour guide. She was excellent, telling a lot of interesting stories back to the middle ages and beyond. Bruge was not impacted much by WWI nor WWII and so a lot of the original buildings are still intact.
After our historic walking tour, we needed to rest our feet. So we went into a bar (recommended by our tour guide) for a beer. We tried the tasting flight of 12 local beers! We had fun talking with group of young people from Turkey who also on the walking tour while tasting the beers.
Then we sat down to a pizza (and more beer!) before went back to the town square to listen to a live concert (celebration of Belgian National Holiday) and a waffle loaded with strawberries and whipped cream.
We got back to our campsite around 10pm and were so tired , we went straight to bed.
