With today, being such a special day for us, we decided to enjoy the city at our own pace and not participate with other groups or rush through any museums, etc. We arrived in the city about 11 am and walked to a few areas of interest that were only mentionned during our walking tours yesterday and not actually seen.

One of them was the embassy area. A lovely area with a big park and big homes. They say that the wealthy people wanted to live close to the castle so they built their "palaces" in this area, just across the bridge and only a short walk to the castle. Now many of these "palaces" are embassies.

Then, we crossed the bridge again to the old city and explored the side streets that we had not been on. Lots more old and beautiful buildings to discover, on narrow cobble stone streets. We shared a local dessert called Trdelink, something Judy really wanted to try before leaving. This is a doughnut like pastry, baked over charcoal, around a rod. The pastry is covered with sugar and cinnamon, put in a little plastic cup and then filled with whatever filling you choose. We chose vannilla ice cream with apples and honey. Delicious!!

We then followed the riverside walking path beyond the bridge. John spotted a bar that provided beer sampling so we stopped in and tried 10 different Czeck beers! The bar is called the Prague Beer Museum! But it certainly was no museum!

We had been thinking of going to a concert and, luckily, we found one that was starting at 5 pm. So we bought tickets and away we went. The "Prague Wind Quintet", 5 wind instruments played by 5 older men, was excellent. They played pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Bizet. The concert was held in St Nicholas Church in the old city square. The sound was really beautiful in this church. So glad we decided to go.

Then we found a restaurant as per our guides recommendations from yesterday. Another good meal.

On our way back to the campsite, it started to rain. Fortunately, we had our jackets with us.
