This was a travel day en route to Prague. We knew we would have to likely do this trip in 2 days but we never thought it would take so long. Due to a mix of lots of traffic, road construction and very slow border staff, it took us 11 hours today, on major highways to go from Belgrade to Bruck an der Leitha, a small Austrian town just across the Hungarian border, only 576 km!!

Alot of patience required...1.5 hours to go through the Serbian border (and we were leaving Serbia!!!!) and 1.5 hours to go through the Hungarian border. After the Hungarian "Tax and Customs" guys looked in our trunk area and asked John a few questions that he guessed the interpretation, the border police told John, with a smirk, to turn off the car until he finished his smoke! So we obliged, with a little more patience!!

We arrived at a very cute Austrian styled hotel about 9 pm. Thank goodness they had a restaurant that was still open!

Generally, we find the drivers here are very agressive but John is doing a great job at driving our standard shift "German bicycle".
